Help has anyone come across a way to automatic db creation.

Hi I've been given a project that requires me to produce a users friendly web base administarion menu that creates a new customer for one of our systems.

The problem is this Project it needs to create a database for each user, in SQL server 2000. This has me stumpted, has anybody ever done this before and could they point me in the correct direction! The majority of our administration menu are written in ASP but any help automating this procedure would be useful.

Thanks a lot, EdYou can create a database simply using the T-SQL command

CREATE DATABASE

that can be invoked as any other command from your client.

You can also use it in a Stored Procedure.|||Originally posted by manowar

Help finding group totals for year end

My SQLServer 2k database has the following tables:
Transaction
Customer
Employee
Every Transaction is assigned a customerId
Every Customer is assigned an employee id
All Transactions have a total
What I am trying to do is calculate the top 5 customers by total for each
employee
I have the following which gives me the top 5 customers, but how do I get
the top 5 for each employee?
WB
Syntax:
SELECT t.CustomerId, sum(t.total)
FROM tblTransaction t
WHERE Year(t.TransactionDate) = 2005
GROUP BY t.CustomerId
ORDER BY sum(t.total) DESCSELECT t.employeeid, sum(t.total)
FROM tblTransaction t INNER JOIN employee e

Column..? I've assumed there is :-
select * from tblTransAction t1 WHERE PK_TranID IN
(SELECT TOP 5 t2.PK_TranID
FROM tblTransAction as t2
WHERE t2.CustomerID = t1.CustomerID
GROUP BY t2.CustomerID, t2.TransactionID, t2.Total
ORDER BY SUM(t2.Total) DESC)

Help - SQL Server Price extreme price variation

Hello,
I'm looking to purchase SQL Server 2000 for a customer and there seems to be
a wide price range ($2500 - $20,000). What can I tell the customer he
should expect to pay and how can I explain the price variance?
Rignt now I had planned on installing the application and using MSDE but I
understand this is a 5 user limit with a 2gb limit per database. Are there
any other considerations I should be aware of?
Thanks for info!
VicThe following link should give some info:

Help

I am having a issue with a customers server. the specs are:
2003 server
sql 6.5
log file size is 1998MB (customer increased this 2 times this week) Log
space avail:600mb
In EM i try and truncate the log file... but the free space never
increases. Also there is no maint. plan on this database. When I try
and create one it advises against creating one with databases over
400MB.
SQL has been on this server for 6 months. The problem just started.
The past day or so these errors are showing up:
Any help?

name1 $1 $2 0$ 8$ $1 $2 0$ 8$ $1 $2 0$ 8$

name2 $1 $2 0$ 8$ $1 $23 0$ 8$ $1 $23 0$ 8$

name3 $1 $2 0$ 8$ $1 $2 0$ 8$ $13 $2 0$ 8$

name4 $1 $2 0$ 83$ $1 $2 0$ 8$ $1 $2 0$ 8$
