Hi,
What's the advantage of using sqlmaint over Backup database command?
With sqlmaint I read in site that it has lots of rights issue. Is it
correct?
Also with the Backup database command is it necessary to do DBCC checkdb
first ?

GaryOn your 2nd point. No it's not necessary to run CheckDB
but it's good practice.
Without running the CHECKDB you could be backing up
corrupt data.
